Whole bean coffee from our friends at Demitasse.
"A super tasty coffee from Nyeri County is from the Mutitu wet mill, founded in 1957 and one of the oldest operating factories in Kenya. Today it's part of the Rugi Farmers Cooperative Society and nearly 750 farmers deliver coffee to this wet mill where it is washed, graded, and soaked for 36 hours before being dried on raised beds for up to 20 days. The co-op borders Wajee Nature Park, a conservancy home to 126 local species of birds. They cultivate coffee at the edges of the park because of the healthy relationship between trees and birds.
The coffee is of the SL 34 and 28 varietals, grown at 1,700 meters above sea level and fully washed.
We're tasting bing cherries and black currant with a strawberry acidity."
With cafes in Santa Monica, Little Tokyo, and Mid-Wilshire, Demitasse is one of LA's original and longest-operating coffee roasters. Founder Bobby Roshan and his team are not only dedicated to sourcing, roasting, and serving exemplary coffee (and tea) but are also fully and aggressively committed to reducing waste. We've been proud to be partners with Demitasse since 2014.
Coffee must be ordered by Wednesday for weekend delivery.
